Symbios reaches 40,000 ORIGIN® individualized knee prosthesis implantations worldwide

In February 2026, Symbios proudly reaches a major milestone: 40,000 ORIGIN® Individualized Knee Prosthesis implanted across Europe and Australia.

Since its introduction in 2018, ORIGIN® Individualized Knee Prosthesis has been supporting surgeons and patients with an individualized approach to total knee arthroplasty—one that respects the uniqueness of every anatomy and kinematic. This milestone is more than just a number, it represents tens of thousands of individuals whose quality of life has been positively impacted. It also reflects the growing confidence and interest in individualized prosthesis solutions rather than standard prosthesis philosophy.

The successful launch of ORIGIN® PS Monobloc in 2018 has led to several key extensions of ORIGIN® range over the years, including:

  • 2021: Launch of the ORIGIN® PS Modular version 

  • 2022: Introduction of the ORIGIN® CR (Cruciate-Retaining) system to meet broader surgical preferences.

  • 2023: Achievement of the EU-MDR CE-mark for the entire ORIGIN® range.

At Symbios, patient well‑being extends beyond the implant itself. It begins in the operating room and continues throughout the patient’s recovery and return to daily activities.

Over the past eight years, Symbios has continuously refined every aspect of TKA surgery thanks to ORIGIN® Total Knee System:
